Project Update June 16th 2011 - Phase Three

Greetings,

The Nanuna resort is now completing the second phase of the new building, with 30 more rooms. Bar and Lounge area has been revamped and is looking great. We have signed a deal with Oxbow International, so its officially the Oxbow Surf House China. GravityCartel instructors Iggy and Ika are there now, providing high level training in Kitesurf and Surf, as well as the IOSUP and IKO programs being used.

Ras from GravityCartel, will be headed out yet again on the 16th June to finalize details on the following:

1.) Kitsurf Tour Asia (Hainan Stop)
2.) Hainan Surf Festival (ASP event for girls)
3.) IOSUP Training and Rescue seminars
4.) Sustainable Village (Sweden and Hainan Governments)

We will also be discussing sponsor packages, and looking at our SUP and Surfboard production at our factory in Guangzhou.

About the Beach Club and Extreme Center

The Club was designed and established in 2009. With 12 modern guest rooms and suites, its a blend of Western design and Chinese decor and furnishings. Each guest room has its own western style bathroom and shower. Four different types of rooms, non smoking, sunlight, garden and two deluxe suits.

We also have an ocean front bar and lounge, with good food and drinks, made by our man Iggy, and ex-Hard Rock Cafe bartender.

The beach, in front is 3km long, and full of various surf spots. Great for SUP Stand Up Paddling as well, with a small peeling left right in front of the hotel.

Sounds great right ... plus IKO Kitesurfing, Surfing, Stand Up paddle Surf and much more ...

Phase Two Trips Plans for February 2011

Greetings,

Phase Two is now being planned. The team will be visiting Hong Kong, Beijing, Hainan and Taiwan for various reasons. Some will be for corporate services, then the ISPO Action Sports Seminar in Beijing, then to Hainan for the Grand Opening of the resort and meetings with the Tourism Board, and finally to Taiwan for factory visits and demos.

Truthfully, the trip will be very interesting indeed, with new opportunities, great winds and waves and expanded sales horizons.

We plan on departing in mid February. Keep in tuned to the enxt update.

Thanks to Iggy and possibly Ika whom will be our leading top instructors at the new Kite Center in Hainan, at the Nanuna & GravityCartel Resort. They will be moving there around middle February if all goes according to plan. IKO Certified Kite classes, by experienced riders.

Things are coming along nicely for the Hainan Surf Project and GravityCartel.

Preparations Under Way for 2011

The second trip is planned for after Chinese New Year, with all the team members present. A complete tour of Hong Kong, China (Beijing), Taiwan and Hainan is now being planned.

The resort is also under way, with 15-20 new members being hired for day to day operations. Two new IKO Kite instructors are on there way, as well as licensed and certified training programs for SUP, Surfing and Kitesurfing.

This means the official product launch, resort grand opening and promotion of brands & the first active lifestyle center in Hainan. IKO Kitesurf Center, Surf & SUP Center and much more ...

The ASP has confirmed next years surf event in Hainan, and the KTA just had a great Kite event last year, which I am sure they will repeat next year.

PHASE TWO CONFIRMED

Sweden (Gotland) and Hainan Island have signed a treaty which will develop ties between business and tourism between the two nations. The government has now confirmed interest in pursuing Phase One of the project, and following up with another visit. A professional team of government representatives and businesses will be formed for the next visit in early 2011.

The sports tourism side is also developing. The new resort will be the FIRST international pro center on the island, offering international standards and high level courses in Kitesurfing, Surfing, SUP and more .... with diverse sponsors from Europe ... it will stand out against the rest. We will also have all licenses and requirements and provide accomodation with international standards!

Within 12 months, the lifestyle store concept will also be in development in an upscale "Bar Street".

Hainan Surf Project Planning Phase Two

Phase two of the Hainan Surf Project is under way, with plans for the China Sports Expo, and official product launch for several of the brands that have sponsored phase one of the project.

Good news is that most of the brands will be continuing there support for the project, and we will be opening the FIRST ever Pro Center of its kind there, offering well developed brands, services and accomodation for adventure and board sport enthusiasts.

Hainan Surf Project Planning Phase Two

Hainan Island Phase Two is now being planned. In conjunction with the Search Magazine article coming out in December, we are now planning on a second delegation trip this December-January-February.

Competition time, planning the days, practicing and riding as much as possible. Met Brendan from Hainan Surfing ... all going well over here .... Back to Haikou tomorrow for meetings, then back here in 1 or 2 november for practice and more kitesurf and surf .... lotas of interest, market is blowing up ... the next two years will be crucial ... loads of ideas ....

In Sanya Surfing !!!!!!!!

The days have passed, meetings, lunches, visits, and talks ..... was very interesting and this place has loads of opportunities. Its is awesome ... wave and wind and now the TOP destination in China .... so loads to think about.

Went surfing today with the local crew from Sanya ... in RiYuen Bay .... was epic .. small and fuin but no one out and tropical conditions .... like Hawaii ... for real ...

Check out the RainTree Hostel in Sanya , thats where I am staying ... very cool people ,.... Moyu, Justin, TianJuang ... all rippers .... and tomorrow I meet Brendan from Surfing Hainan .... I also have been invited to demo and particioate in the competition .... lets rock !!!! Will showcase products on the beach ... and its government sponsored, and heavy media coverage ... so should be great!!!

Big Wave Bay HONG KONG Oct 25th

25 Oct Big Wave Bay and Shek-O Hong Kong
Typhoon swurved over back east, had some good swell a couple of days ago, the local surfers Nelson and the boys were talking off 30 foot faces, and clean conditions. Offshore winds etc .... sweet!Typhoon is now off to sea again, and will bring in some nice swell for Hainan tomorrow and for the rest of the week. Also another typhoon outside Philippines, which is headed this direction also, so we should get some great winds and waves for the coming days.Good news, local surfer in Hainan, and now good friend has organized a test and demo for Lidearth Kites, Future Kiting Boards, as well as a product demo for Agenbt Eighteen and Triggernaut, Moana Tahiti and Indion .... showcasing our products to the local Hainese, hopefully through Surfing Hainan, the local surfshop and acting force down there managed by Brendan. So, things will be popping!Tomorrow morning, leaving HK, arrival north Hainan in Haikou where I will be meeting government officials, as well as the B2B delegation from Europe to begin discussions on how to promote tourism on the island.Not much waves and wind when I was in Big Wave Bay and Shek-o today, but soon we will get some epic conditions. Thanks to Abs, local surfer and Hawaiian boy living in Hong Kong ... who took me around all day ...Next stop, Hainan!

Typhoon Megi the BIGGEST since 1990 Hits Hainan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China

The search continues .... The Typhoon has brought forth havoc in the area, but now has slowly changed course .. will not make landfall and will weaken slightly. So no extreme flooding and destruction, thank jah !

Good news is that the first swells will hit Tuesday ... and Hainan island will be going off!

Today, 24th was spent wondering the streets with my old bros ... eating some good food and planning a surf trip to Big Wave Bay, Dai Long Wan and Shek-O to look for surf and wind in Hong Kong ....

Will be in Hainan on the 26th ... for a good surf and kite session .... so be ready .... Lidearth Kites will be flying, Moana Tahiti, Indion, Triggernaut, Agent Eighteen ......

Sports Tourism Delegation Hainan China 2010-2011

We call it the Hawaii of Asia.

In the end of October 2010, there will be a high level European delegation visiting the tropical island of Hainan, south of mainland China. This business delegation will develop business networks, B2B projects, and cross promote Spain, Hawaii, Sweden and Hainan Island via the official Tourism Seminar held in HaiKou and Sanya.

International Team Rider and all sports ambassador, Christian Ras has been invited to join this top level business delegation to represent European lifestyle brands and active sports companies.
